NEW YEAR FASHION TIPS
FULL OF HINTS & TIPS
It's a new year and a chance for a fresh start. It can be tough getting off the sofa though, can't it? So we’ve put together some easy tips for you to get your resolutions off to a good start...
It doesn't cost the earth, and unlike a fizzy drink it isn't packed with calories and sugar to bloat you. Next time you feel like a sugary snack, why not try a large glass of water from the tap instead?
Whether chocolate, pizza, or cake is your real weakness, don’t worry too much. There’s no such thing as ‘bad’ food, just the amount you eat of it. As long as you eat in moderation, a little bit of what you fancy never hurt anyone!
A great slimming tip is to watch how much you have on your plate. Sensible portion control means you can’t over-eat when it’s not on your plate to begin with!
Learn to love breakfast in 2012. If you’ve been a breakfast ‘skipper’ so far, turn over a new leaf. A healthy breakfast will help you make better food choices through the day because you won’t be so hungry.
Still feeling sluggish after some festive fun? We can help. You can do this quick and easy exercise round the house, have a bit of fun and kiss goodbye to unwanted winter weight at the same time.
Don’t give up at the end of a bad day and undo those new year resolutions. Chalk it up as a one-off and treat tomorrow as a new day. No point beating yourself up about it – we all have our bad days!
It’s good to remind yourself why you’re looking to slim down. Maybe you’ve got a holiday planned for a few month’s time, or a little black dress to get into? Try sticking a picture of the resort or the LBD on the fridge to keep you motivated.
Family and friends can help you trim down and tone up in the new year. Tell people about your healthy resolutions and get them to help you turn down that extra glass of wine!
The more you move every day, the better you’ll feel. And there are plenty of ways to gently work a little exercise into the day. Get off the bus a stop earlier and walk, take the stairs not the escalator, or why not join in with the kids on the Wii Sports?
Try setting yourself small goals every week that you can manage, rather than aiming for huge changes. So try drinking 8 glasses of water every day in week one, for example? Try not taking lifts and escalators in week two?
