Quick and easy beauty treats

Regular pampering will keep you looking and feeling great while you’re losing weight. These tried and tested tips (they really work!) will help you to stay gorgeous, without spending a fortune!

  • Dry brush your whole body every day, using a stiff-bristled body brush. Use long, firm strokes towards your heart, starting with the soles of you feet and working up to your legs, bottom, back, chest, and arms. Follow with moisturiser. It helps fight cellulite and leaves you with a healthy glow. Once you get used to it, it feels really good too!
  • Use a face mask once a week. You can buy a sachet for only about a pound, and it works in as little as 10 minutes, leaving your skin feeling really soft, smooth and deeply cleansed.
  • Exfoliate! Using an exfoliating scrub, rub in circular motions towards your heart. It really softens your skin and gives you a healthy glow!
  • Every celebrity’s essential beauty product is shimmering body lotion. It highlights your muscles, makes your arms and legs look slimmer and gives you a flattering glow. Make it your essential going-out product!
  • For super-shiny hair: Apply freshly squeezed lemon juice to your hair (don’t get it in your eyes or on cuts – ouch!), then rinse.
  • Set some time aside to give yourself a mini manicure. Trim your nails then shape them with a nail file (the shape of the nail should reflect the shape of the cuticle. Usually a squarish-oval). Soak your hands in a bowl of warm water for 5 or 10 minutes (put a tiny bit of your favourite cream bath/body wash or a couple of drops of lavender essential oil in if you like). Dry your hands gently, then use a cuticle stick to push back the cuticles. Put on plenty of moisturiser. You can paint your nails too if you like (make sure you wipe any excess moisturiser from your nails first) or just leave them natural. Clear polish can give your nails a nice natural shine.
